You can't really tell from this photo, but the painting has some really cool brush work in the red background. I painted fallen leaves all around the heart.

My first dip into painting a found object (I found it in my basement...tee-hee)
I don't personally like it yet. I think it needs something... maybe a poem.

Is it funny? Is it scary? It's both. A tongue-in-cheek statement about what happens when very nice dishes break.

This a is little visual commentary opposing how society typically views the male and female heart. Females are much more strong and passionate than we are allow to be, represented by the bright bold and warm colors, although you can't really tell from the picture there's a lot of detail in the yellow brush strokes highlighted with a warm red dry-brushed effect. Whereas males are really soft and tender at heart, once you can get past the cold, remote grey cloud that seems to surround many men's emotions.

Oil and powder pigment on Canvas

This was a canvas gone bad until I redirected and figured out this. The heart is a white and gold pigment being slowly eaten by the blackness of violence. I had fun making a mess with the gold powder pigment to suggest movement.
